Eileen Davis Clawson holds a bachelor's degree with a major in chemistry from Thiel College in Greenville, PA and a master's degree with a major in forensic chemistry from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Eileen completed a 26+ year career with the Virginia Department of Forensic Science retiring in 2008 as Forensic Section Chief for Trace Evidence. She was certified to perform examinations in the subdisciplines of fire debris, explosives, general chemicals, hairs and fibers and paint. Eileen was an active member and officer of the Mid-Atlantic Association of Forensic Scientists (MAAFS), served as chair of the fiber subgroup of the Scientific Working Group for Materials Analysis (SWGMAT), and continues to conduct accreditation assessments for ANAB the new home for the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors – Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB). She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Criminalistics (ABC) and is a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI).
